John Kuhn
Chief Deputy Assessor

John Kuhn is happily married to Alyssa and has two sons (Alex & Jacob), two stepsons (Landon & Kelton), and a stepdaughter (Ashlyn).  His children range in age from 7 to 16 years old.

John grew up in San Juan County, graduating from Farmington High School in 1990.  After his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Macninist Mate and was stationed in Norfolk, VA.

After being honorably discharged in 1995, John moved back to the Farmington area, where he became an active community member in San Juan County. John's work experience includes six years in sales, five years in law enforcement as an criminal investigator, two years as a deputy medical investigator and ten years of estimating and project management in the pipeline industry.

John recently served as the American Petroleum Institute (API) golf tournament chairman for four years and is currently serving as the 2nd vice chairman on the API board.

For more than 11 years, John has coached youth basketball, soccer and baseball in San Juan County. He was an asistant coach for the Piedra Vista High School baseball team in 2015.

Mr. Kuhn was appointed Chief Deputy Assessor in July 2016 by San Juan County Assessor Jimmy Voita.
